2025/26 Club Championship now open for entries

The York Club Championship runs from September to March each year. The tournament typically runs every Wednesday fortnight with one 'classical' game per evening. (If you can't make a particular session then you can rearrange with your opponent.) Our games allow for 75mins per player per game plus 10 seconds for each move you make, so lots of thinking time.

The tournament is open to all and players range in strength from 800+ rating on chess.com to 2300+! Rounds are arranged to allow players to 'find their level' and the ethos is friendly, although it can also get quite competitive!
