Maksym and Aaron win in Richard Palliser simul

Maksym Kryshtafor, Ukraine’s under eight chess champion, who is living with a York family as a result of the current war, has defeated York International Chess Master Richard Palliser in a twenty board simultaneous chess match against the City’s best junior players.


Aaron Rich (15 from Fulford School) also recorded a win, while Adrian Lee (16, Bootham) managed a draw. Overall Richard defeated the York Juniors by a score of 18.5 - 2.5 as he played all the juniors (one twice) at the same time, a remarkable feat.
